DUKI DROR ON INCESSANT VISIONS
I wanted to go somewhere else, into the past, and experiment with mixing of genres, documentary and fiction, to make the past come alive. To be honest, I had a very sketchy idea in mind what it would look like. I found the story of Erich Mendelsohn while walking in the streets of Tel Aviv, looking at Bauhaus architecture and wondering where this modern idea originated from. This was a compelling story of a displaced artist who had a radical will and a pencil in his hand with which he wanted to change the world. And so he did. Jorn Utzon, Frank Gehry, Daniel Libeskind - new styles, new materials. all sprung out of his prophetic conceptions.
